Skywarn Weather Spotter Training

Skywarn Weather Spotter Training will be held at the Worcester ECC. The class will be taught by WX1BOX Skywarn Coordinator Rob Macedo KD1CY as well as other individuals from the National Weather Service's Taunton office. The class is open to the general public but it is highly recommended for amateur radio operators, CMARA and WECT members. It is also recommended that those that have had this training 4+ years ago might consider retaking the training since techniques and reporting criteria change over time.

Event occurs on 05/21/2008 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

ATTENTION

NEAR-Fest

The New England Amateur Radio Festival will be held once again this spring at the Deerfield Fairgrounds at 34 Stage Road, Deerfield, NH. The event is the successor to Hosstraders and was very successful this past fall. It's sure to be a large event again this spring. Proceeds are donated to programs in the New England and Southwest Canadian areas that have to do with youth amateur radio involvement. Hope to see you there!

REPEATER ABCs New

  1. Always identify your station, avoid 'kuchunking'. If you need to test access, announce with your station callsign and state you are testing. To those listening: a test transmission is not an invitation for a QSO, respond only if there is a request for a report.
  2. Be courteous, avoid confrontations. Contact a trustee or a member of the board if you feel a response to bad behavior is needed.
  3. Contain your QSO time. Don't carry on endlessly - respect other's rights to have repeater access.
  4. If you can talk to each other on simplex please do so.
  5. Please count to three before you key up to help prevent doubling
  6. From the CMARA Board of Directors and the Repeater Trustees. CMARA owns and maintains the 146.97 repeater in Paxton, MA.
