A message from the CMARA Secretary and Field Day Safety Officer:

Unlike the past two years there may be showers in the forecast for Saturday night (40%) and into Sunday morning (50%).

  • Rain gear and rubber boots should be in everyone's gear.
  • Paper towels are useful for drying rigs and things that might get wet.
  • In wet conditions electrical safety is even more important. Plastic bags and electrical tape will help cover electrical connections. Use stakes to lift them off the ground will help if puddles accumulate.
  • If the rain causes the field to be muddy, be prepared to park or move your vehicle to the paved parking area.
I attached this Field Day Checklist I found online to help you with your preparations. Not all items listed may apply to you. I especially like that you can note where you store the gear so you can find it next year, and whether you’ve packed it up or are staging it nearby your vehicle.

Come out to help the club, enjoy and be safe!

Don Carlton
CMARA Secretary and Field Day Safety Officer
