The series tuned section has a characteristic impedance of 300 ohms.

Normalize the antenna impedance to the impedance of the tuned section:

ZP = ZA/ZO

      ZA = 4000ohms (assumed feed point impedance of the vertical half wave radiator)

      ZO = 300ohms (characteristic impedance of the tuned section)

ZP  =  13.333

RHO = (ZP-1) / (ZP+1)  =  .860   Reflection Coefficient.

YF = ZO / ZF   =   165   Feed line impedance to normalized admittance.  (reciprocal of impedance).

B = SQR ( (RHO*RHO* (YF+1) * (YF+1) – (YF-1) * (YF-1) ) / (1-RHO*RHO) )

B  =  43.296   Capacitive  susceptance of series section.

X2 = -1/B (-1/B)  =  X2  =  -0.0231.   Inductive reactance of Shunt Section.

L2  =  arctan (X2)*(180/3.141)     =   52.923.   Length of shorted stub in degrees.

X1  =  1.488.   Inductive reactance of Series Section.

L1  =  ((arctan (X1)*(180/3.141))  =  89.328.   Length of Series Section in degrees.

Series Section  =  32.78 * V * (L1/F)  =  17.247”.

Shunt Section   =  32.78 * V * (L2/F)  =   2.782”.

Section O.A.L. =  20.029”.

Radiator and Series Tuned Section O.A.L.  =  58.780”.
