Membership Information

Why Join?

Deciding to become a member of CMARA offers you the following advantages:
  • You are supporting the finest 2-meter repeater in New England, with the largest footprint of any repeater in the area.
  • You can attend meetings that have excellent presentations, with fellow radio operators whose combined radio experience adds up to hundreds of years. You have the ability to help steer the topics of the meetings. We all are the same, as hams, always seeking more answers, almost always finding them through CMARA.
  • You have a strong sense of ownership and participation in radio schedules such as "Georges Old Timer's Net". No other club has such a following with either transceivers or monitors. We have a code of ethics requiring that we always remember who is listening - people of all ages who enjoy the shows, and who take note of how polite and respectful we are to one another.
  • Your membership includes: your membership card, your club name badge, the W1BIM repeater kept in top shape, and access to any and all questions concerning Amateur Radio.
  • We encourage new members to provide fresh ideas, to serve on necessary committees, to help with amateur radio Field Day and to show the general public the many contributions of Amateur Radio clubs. Among other things, radio clubs serve in weather reporting, weather emergencies and relaying messages between civil and military agencies.
  • In addition to technical operations and public service, we also have fun! An annual Club Picnic and an annual Holiday Dinner are two social functions which you can attended - and bring the family. Stop by at any of our functions and see what we do!
